An electrophotographic photosensitive member has a electroconductive support and a photoconductive layer formed on a surface of the electroconductive support, in which the surface of the photoconductive layer is provided with a protective layer composed of a cured resin of a curable phosphazene compound as the outermost layer or in which the surface of the photocon- ductive layer is composed of the curable phosphazene compound. The electrophotographic photosensitive member has a high surface hardness, is excellent in durability, and provides stable image without any distortion.
