<p>PURPOSE: To increase signal power by providing a dye suspended into a non- opaque solid having a refractive index for a radiation larger than that of a medium and re-emitting a second radiation in response to reception of an electromagnetic radiation, and a receptor adjacent to an outlet plane for delivering the second radiation thereby reducing noise. CONSTITUTION: The electromagnetic radiation concentration unit comprises a solid 12 non-opaque to radiation having a refractive index for radiation substantially larger than that of a medium a dye 14 suspended in the solid and re-emitting a second radiation 18 in response to reception of an electromagnetic radiation 16, an outlet plane 26 of the solid formed to deliver the second radiation 18 from the solid 12, and a receptor 20 disposed contiguously to the outlet plane 26 in order to receive a specified part of the second radiation 18. According to the arrangement, noise is reduced and signal power is increased.</p> |
