A display apparatus for a vehicle includes a display element 1 and a prism 2. The prism has a reflecting surface 2b which reflects the image of the displaying element to a driver of the vehicle, and has rounded edges (X2, X3, Figure 2A) where respective surfaces of prism intersect 2a/2c, 2b/2c each other. Some surfaces and edges adjacent to the surfaces are coated 2d with paint of a dark colour such as black. The pigment layer extends as far as points of surface inflection. <IMAGE> |
