PURPOSE:To perform the printing by a type and a dot matrix in one printing line in a well-balanced state, by reading the character pattern data stored in a first memory means from a second memory means to store the same in each column memory region and performing the driving control of a second printing part by a second driving control means. CONSTITUTION:When a dot matrix printing order signal is outputted to CPU 22 from an external apparatus 23, CPU 22 drives a carriage driving motor 35 in response to said order signal to rearwardly move a carriage 5 at a constant speed. In parallel to this operation, the character pattern data corresponding to one printing line stored in each one character printing memory region 31 of a second print buffer 27c is successively read at every character pattern data of each column memory region 32 of the one character printing memory region 31 and the driving of a printing head 12 is controlled on the basis of the read data and dot matrix printing is applied to the predetermined printing figure on printing is applied to the predetermined printing figure on printing paper 2 except the printing figure having been previously subjected to type printing. |
