PURPOSE:To obtain a light-weighted, thin, and self-supporting electrode base by using as the electrode base, a non-woven fabric sintered sheet obtained by mixing an organic fiber with metal powder and metal fiber, suspending the mixture in water to make a paper, and then sintering in a reductive atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A non-woven fabric sintered sheet formed of either of a nickel fiber to which either of nickel powder or cobalt powder, or the mixture thereof is adhered or a nickel fiber coated with cobalt, or the mixture thereof is used as an electrode base. The non-woven fabric sintered sheet is obtained by mixing an organic fiber with metal powder and metal fiber, suspending the mixture in water to make a paper, and then sintering under a reductive atmosphere. It maintains self-supporting property even if the thickness is reduced as thin as 100-300mum, and the weight per unit area can be reduced to 20-50mg/cm<2>, so that a reduction in weight can be enhanced. |
