<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a golf club which is lightweight and can extend the flying distance of a ball by using a head made of a fiber-reinforced metal reinforced with C-SiC fiber and/or C-SiC-MC fiber. CONSTITUTION:A head is made of a fiber-reinforced metal reinforced with C-SiC fiber and/or C-SiC-MC fiber. The C-SiC fiber is a combination of an amorphous phase made of C and O and/or crystalline ultra-fine grains made of beta-SiC with the grain size 500Angstrom or below and amorphous SiOx (0<x<=2), and the ratio of constituting elements is Si; 30-70wt.%, C; 20-60wt.% and O; 0.5-10wt.%. The O-SiC-MC fiber is an inorganic fiber made of a metal-containing polynuclear aromatic polymer containing at least one kind of element selected among Ti, Zr and Hf and silicon, and the ratio of constituting elements is Si; 50-70wt.%, M; 0.5-45wt.%, C; 20-40wt.% and O; 0.01-30wt.%.</p> |
