PURPOSE:To reduce pollution due to noise or exhaust gas under street drive mode by driving a vehicle with a diesel engine under mode other than street drive mode whereas driving the vehicle with a motor, which is fed with power from a fuel cell, under street drive mode. CONSTITUTION:A fuel reformer 4 decomposes gas oil into hydrogen and carbon monoxide through partial oxidation reaction employing nickel series catalyst. An electronic controller(ECU) 14 controls solenoid valves 3a, 9, under a mode other than street drive mode, to drive a vehicle through a diesel engine 1 and further removes NOx from exhaust gas by the intermediary of produced ammo nia, whereas the ECU 14 opens a solenoid valve 12, under street drive mode, to feed hydrogen to a fuel cell 13 so as to produce a current which is then fed to a motor 15. By such arrangement, pollution of noise and exhaust gas can be prevented under street drive mode. |
