The invention relates to a game using a playing surface (102), divided into squares (boxes) (103) arranged in lines and in columns, and pieces intended to be placed one to a square. The pieces comprise numerical pieces (104, 105) bearing integers, and operating pieces (110, 111) bearing mathematical or logic operators. The numbers (106, 107) and the operators (112, 113) are of different colours corresponding to different values expressed as points. Each player has a constant quantity of pieces of each type. At each turn, he has to place the pieces over a single row of squares so as to form an equation, if possible by means of intersection with pieces which have already been put down. The same equipment can be used with different rules and different playing surfaces, for educational or entertainment purposes. <IMAGE>
