Each shelf (3) of a shelf unit (1), the framework (2) of which is formed of uprights located in at least two parallel rows, comprises a fastening element (11a, 11b) on each of its two opposed sides, which fastening element bears on a retaining element (12, 12') formed by a removable stake. Each fastening element (11a, 11b) is formed of a U section which extends substantially over the entire length of the side of the shelf (3) which is associated with it. These two sections for the same shelf (3) have webs (a) of different width and they thus form two fastening elements, respectively a narrow one (11a) and a wide one (11b), such that the wide fastening element (11b) of one shelf (3) covers over the narrow fastening element (11a) of an adjacent shelf (3) around a stake (12, 12'). <IMAGE>
