Program switch for washing machines - with lockable pre-selection and rotary cam block with set program cams

A washing machine program switch incorporates a lockable pre-selection system and a rotary cam block comprising a set of programm cams. The cam block is connected to a pre-selection cam which moves axially in the direction of the rotation axis of the main cam block. A rotary operating knob is connected to an indexing wheel. The switch features means for a temporary axial fixing of the pre-selection cam in a position approaching the indexing wheel. In this position, every relative turn between the pre-selection cam and the indexing wheel is prevented so that every turn of the indexing wheel goes along with a simultaneous turn of the pre-selection cam and the main cam block. ADVANTAGE - The cam block can be guided manually and directly into every desired angle position without the help of an electric rotating drive.
