The air conditioner has two heat exchangers (2,3) installed in a common plane. An adjustable flow of air is delivered via valves (14-16) to air outlet ducts (9-11) formed on the unit's sides, upstream and downstream of the second heat exchanger (3). The second heat exchanger is an annular type and encompasses the first plate type heat exchanger. The unit may have two filters fitted in parallel and separated by a deflecting baffle, and lying in different planes. ADVANTAGE - The air conditioner is more compact, demanding less space.
