PURPOSE:To impart an area gradation by disposing at least two pieces of transparent electrodes in one color element of color filters. CONSTITUTION:For example, glass is used as a transparent substrate 1 an a black mask 2 is formed by using chromium, nickel or an org. high polymer dispersed with pigments thereon. The black mask 2 is so provided as to be disposed between the corresponding transparent electrodes 5 and the color filters 3 consisting of R, G, B are formed thereon. An ordinary protective layer 4 for the purpose of flatting and for protecting the color filters is provided on this layer. A transparent conductive film consisting of the oxide of indium tin, etc., is provided thereon and is formed as the bisected transparent electrodes 5 by using a resist method, by which the electrode substrate having the shape provided with two pieces of the transparent electrodes 5 in one color element of the color filters is obtd. The difficult division of the color filters is eliminated in this way and the area gradation is attained. |
