The domestic heating and current supply system is fully independent of the mains supplies and is controlled to match both the heating and current requirement. It uses a water-cooled diesel engine driving an electrical generator, the excess electrical energy being stored via a battery block. The latter is used to provide small power levels, the engine and generator only being switched in when the requirement rises, or the battery block needs recharging. The engine cooling circuit is coupled to the heating circuit when the engine temp. is above the circulation temp. ADVANTAGE - Allows waste heat to be used to boost heating.
