The modular housing for a door entry system comprises rectangular sockets (10) embedded in a wall providing a series of adjacent compartments for respective module inserts, e.g. an amplifier, a loudspeaker, a t.v. camera or a push-button set. The side walls of the socket have coupling elements allowing adjacent sockets (10) to be fitted together. Different coupling elements (17, 18) are provided along the longitudinal and end sidewalls (11, 13; 12, 14) of each socket to allow the sockets to be coupled together in two coordinate directions. ADVANTAGE - Provides access space for cables and connection leads between sockets.
