The cleaning machine has work tools (5) fitted on a holder (2) wherein the holder and tools are held for swivel action by means of at least one compensating device (A) which can be designed so that the swivel movements can be about at least one ideal swivel axis (S). The compensating device can be formed by an articulated square whose momentary pole represents an ideal swivel axis (S). The articulated square can be formed from coupling rods (a,b) and guide rods (4) connecting same. USE/ADVANTAGE - The tools rest evenly over the surface being cleaned.
