Bone implants with fibre mesh on base body

The bone implant consists of a core (47) with its surface covered by a layer of unidirectional fibres (48) extruding in the longitudinal direction. The fibres are covered with a layer of woven fibres, (41,46) for a textured surface (21,22). The fibre mesh (41) is pref. of twisted fibres, retaining their round cross section. It forms up to 70% fibre portion. The core may be of a composite fibre material with a jacket.
