<p>A multi-tank fuel storage system (10) is provided for a generator unit (60) which can be mounted to a container (115) in a clip-on fashion and/or mounted to a chassis supporting the container in an underslung fashion. The preferred multi-tank fuel storage system includes: a first fuel storage tank (20) built into the generator unit housing; a separate auxiliary fuel storage tank (30); a feed line (34) and pump (40) coupling the tanks (20, 30) for transferring fuel from the auxiliary tank (30) to the first fuel storage tank (20); an overflow line (32) coupling the tanks for transferring overflow from the first fuel storage tank (20) to the auxiliary fuel storage tank (30); and conduits for coupling the first fuel storage tank (20) to the engine (62) of the generator unit. Quick disconnect couplings (42, 44) are placed in the feed line and the overflow line.</p> |
