PURPOSE: To improve efficiency of filtering/purifying hot gases by forming hot gas filtration/purification elements with a predetermined rate of porosity and having a fibrous structure comprising metal alloy fibril of a specific composition. CONSTITUTION: Metal alloy fibrils of a type represented by formula MCrAlX (wherein M represents a matrix selected from iron and/or nickel and/or cobalt, X represents an element which reinforces the adhesion of an oxide layer to be formed on the fibrils in contact with the hot gases, chosen from zirconium, hafnium, yttrium, cerium, lanthanum and misch metal. Allowing the fibrils to constitute a random and ataxic distribution, a fibrous structure having a predetermined degree of porosity is formed thereby the elements for filtering or purifying hot gases are obtained. |
