<p>PURPOSE:To consecutively convert a video signal having optional number of horizontal scanning lines into a video signal having another optional number of horizontal scanning lines and to output the signal by dividing the number of a new horizontal scanning line by set and inputted magnification and reading out the horizontal scanning line of the original number corresponding to a value obtained by making a quotient into an integer from a memory. CONSTITUTION:The magnification N for increasing or decreasing the number of the horizontal scanning lines of the video signal is set and inputted in a control circuit 7 by operating an input means 8. In the case of reading out the video signal written in a memory 2, the control circuit 7 performs such as arithmetic operation that the number R is divided by the magnification N and the quotient (R/N) is made into the integer, for example, by counting fractions of 5 and over as a unit and disregarding the rest when the number of the new horizontal scanning line of the read-out and outputted video signal is taken as R. Then, the memory 2 is controlled through a readout control circuit 6 so that the horizontal scanning line of the number corresponding to the integer value W is read out form the memory 2 as the new horizontal scanning line of the number R. Therefore, the number of the horizontal scanning lines is changed regardless of the number of the horizontal scanning lines of the inputted/outputted video signal and magnification.</p> |
