PURPOSE:To prevent a light emission source itself from breaking and a lead wire from being disconnected by arranging the flexible optical wavedirector in the hollow of a thin pipe. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 2 made of an elastic material is inserted into the hollow part of a flexible thin pipe structure 1. A light emitting means 3 is provided at one end of the optical fiber 2 and a light radiation means 4 is arranged at the other end part. Light which is propagated in the optical fiber 2 is reflected omnidirectionally by an omnidirectional light radiation means, so the brightening of the tip of the flexible optical wavedirector can be seen well from any position and at any angle. A flexible optical wavedirector like this neither decreases in radiant light intensity nor emits no light owing to breakage, etc., even when a large shock force is applied repeatedly. |
