A method and a device for optically measuring the twist in a textile yarn. The device comprises a means (20) for illuminating the yarn (10) with a light beam (11) in order to form a patch of light (12) wich corresponds to the light diffracted by the fibres on the surface of the compact core of the yarn. Then, the energy distribution of said patch is analyzed using for example a rotarry scanner in order to define the angle of twist by determining the energy peak in said patch (12). |
