<p>PURPOSE:To secure quality at every media of a voice band signal by adding and transmitting compression related information of encoded data, and setting a fluctuation absorption time, based on the compression related information at the receiving side. CONSTITUTION:A media discriminating circuit 4 discriminates a media classification of an inputted PCM signal, and sends media classification information to a coder 1 and a packet assembling part 3. The coder 1 executes encoding, based on the media classification information, and outputs an encoded frame to a buffer 2. The assembling part 3 assembles a packet by the contents of the buffer 2 and the media classification information and sends it out. The sent-out packet is sent to a packet decomposing part 6 and a packet header discriminating part 5. The discriminating circuit 5 discriminates the media classification of the packet, sets a fluctuation time in accordance therewith and outputs a reproducing timing signal to the decomposing part 6. A decoder 7 which receives the encoded frame from the decomposing part 6 converts the encoded frame to a PCM signal.</p> |
