<p>An elevator acting as fire-escape equipment for a high-rise building is disclosed. The elevator includes a fire-activated control system that when sensing fire causes the elevator to descend without stopping (or with restricted stopping) to a safe level below the level of the fire. The elevator may include a self-contained electrical power generator, and an air purifier. It may be air-tight and constructed of fire-proof material. <IMAGE></p> |
