PURPOSE:To eliminate the unpleasant feeling caused when the speed is reduced and at the same time to prevent the fall-down, by applying the brakes with a retarder brake when a fault arises at a speed measuring part and carrying out a certain control of speed reduction for the fault arising at other measuring parts. CONSTITUTION:In case when a speed sensor 1 has a fault by some reason under the travelling of a car, a fault detector 30 detects the fault of the sensor 1 and delivers a switch signal Sa to switch a switch SW1 to the side B. At the same time, a speed reduction setter 35 delivers a speed reduction signal Vdf with the brake force Fa that is stopped by a car speed control signal V set as the initial value when the signal Sa is applied to the setter 35. The signal Vdf is delivered from the switch SW1 in place of the signal V. A brake driving device 4 gradually increases the force Fa in accordance with the signal Vdf to gradually stop the car. |
