The absorptivity of a powder is measured by placing a predetermined quantity of powder in a vessel (4), the bottom of which is formed by a membrane (5). The said vessel (4) is placed on a sintered glass plate (3) which is itself in contact with the surface of a liquid. After a given time, the weight of liquid absorbed by the powder is determined, together with the weight of moistened powder.
