MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF ACTIVATED CARBON FIBER

Isotropic pitch-type carbon fiber is surface-treated with 85-95 deg.C nitric acid solution or nitric acid vapor for 5-30 minutes, undergoes carbonization process at below 1200 deg.C within 2 hours, enters into activation furnace which is fed with mixtured gas of water vapor and nitrogen that was pre-heated at 600 deg.C, and is cooled fastly by hot water vapor of 700-1000 deg.C thus making thin, lightweight, excellent absorbility activated carbon fiber.
