Process for the preparation of monodisperse emulsions, from a polydisperse emulsion which is stable in storage, of the "oil"-in-water type, prepared from "oil", water and a surfactant, characterised in that: a) - the oil content of the emulsion is adjusted to a value of between 1 and 40 % by weight, b) - the concentration of surfactant in the polydisperse emulsion is increased by addition of a quantity of surfactant effective for enabling two phases to be obtained, one so-called liquid phase where the droplets of "oil" are free and a so-called solid phase where the droplets are associated, c) - the liquid phase is separated from the solid phase, and d) - the operations a), b) and c) are optionally recommenced on the solid phase thus separated as many times as necessary to obtain a monodisperse emulsion exhibiting the desired particle size. Application to the preparation of monodisperse oil-in-water emulsions, the oil being in particular a polydiorganosiloxane.
|
