PURPOSE:To easily and quickly control a recording device without complicating its constitution by providing the CPUs to four basic substrates used in the recording device of a copier, etc., to process the read video signals and performing the self-diagnoses of each substrate in accordance with an external operation. CONSTITUTION:An original image is optically read out by a CCD, etc., of an image unit 1. An analog substrate 2 converts the reading point sequential video signals into the digital signals. A CPU substrate 3 converts the video signals into the simultaneous video signals or applies the shading processing to those video signals. An image processing substrate 5 applies the prescribed processing to the output of the substrate 3. Then an image processing substrate 6 performs the editing operations. At the same time, the images projected by a film projector 8 are processed in the same way. The substrate 3 is provided with a CPU 4, and the substrates 2, 3, 5 and 6, the projector 8, etc., are automatically self- diagnosed in accordance with the operations of a user interface 9. In such an easy and quick diagnostic operation, a recording device is surely controlled in a short time without complicating the constitution of the device. |
