An animation dispaly unit includes a main body and an external memory fitted removably to the main body and a video data memory for storing graphic data of characters constituting an object is disposed in the main body. Object data of an object to be displayed on a raster scan monitor, that is, color pallet data, object name data, vertical centering data, horizontal centering data, object size selection data and size designation data are stored beforehand in the program data memory of the external memory. The object data of the object to be displayed on the next vertical retrace line are read out from the program data memory and are stored in an object attribute memory. An in-range decision circuit makes in-range decision on the basis of the vertical centering data, the size selection data and the size designation data and makes in-range decision on the basis of the vertical centering data, the size selection data and the size designation data. |
