PURPOSE:To obtain the subject sponge, useful as seats, walls, carpet ground fabrics, etc., for vehicles such as aircraft, automobiles, etc., by thermally expanding a mixture of an inorganic filler with vinyl chloride-based resin, heat resistance improver, foaming agent and flame retardant plasticizer under pressure. CONSTITUTION:The objective sponge obtained by thermally expanding a mixture of preferably 75-90 pts.wt. (based on 100 pts.wt. sponge) inorganic filler (e.g. carbonate, silicate or oxide of Ca, Al, Mg, etc., or talc) with preferably 10-15 pts.wt. (based on 100 pts.wt. sponge) vinyl chloride-based resin, preferably 0.5-3 pts.wt. (based on 100 pts.wt. sponge) heat resistance improver (e.g. antimony trioxide) and preferably 20-30 pts.wt. (based on 100 pts.wt. sponge) foaming agent (e.g. sodium bicarbonate) and flame retardant plasticizer (e.g. a phthalic acid ester having a structure containing at least 1 phosphorus atom and at least >=2 halogen atoms in the molecule) under pressure. |
