In order automatically to purge and flush disposable bottles (78) produced from a perforable material, such as polyethylene, and containing, for example, a solution (88) of low activity, an apparatus is proposed which makes it possible to cause the upturned bottles to pass under a double-wall needle (44). The needle (44), actuated by a ram, perforates the bottom (82) of the bottle (78). Compressed air is then injected into the bottle, above the solution (88), via the annular passage formed between the walls of the needle (44) so as to discharge the solution via the central passage of the needle. The bottle is then flushed by injecting pressurised water instead of compressed air. Finally, the flushing water is discharged by means of a further injection of compressed air. The purged and flushed bottles are then conveyed to a station where they are directly discharged into a storage drum. …<IMAGE>… |
