PURPOSE:To enable multicolor recording to be performed with a small recording head and to decrease drive force of a carriage by a method wherein ink jetting out mouths which jet out a plurality of colors of ink by limiting them to each kinds, a liquid passage and a common liquid chamber are arranged to one recording head, and a material to be recorded is sent in conjunction with arrangement of said ink discharge mouth. CONSTITUTION:A common ink chamber 18 contains yellow ink, and a common ink chamber 18C contains cyan ink. They supply respectively the yellow ink and the cyan ink to each liquid passage 17V and 17C. Further, each color ink is replenished to the common ink chamber from an ink tank through ink supply tubes 19Y and 19C. Furthermore, a discharge mouth 25B of black ink and a discharge mouth 25M of magenta ink are provided to a head unit 21. Then, since respective up and down ink discharge mouths 15(Y,C) 25(Y,C) 35(B,M) 45(B,M) have an arrangement width (d) in each vertical direction, by repeating feed of the material to be recorded by a feed distance (d) per each scan with such a recording head unit group, recording by eight colors can be executed. |
