PURPOSE:To obtain a medical material maintaining the anti-thrombogenic property for a long period and having excellent flexibility, organism compatibility, mechanical strength, poisonlessness, and workability by thermally kneading a composition of ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer and an organopolysiloxane, molding and then alkali-treating the surface of a molding. CONSTITUTION:A composition of ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer 100 pts.wt. and organopolysiloxane 10-900 pts.wt. indicated by the formula I is heated and kneaded, and the surface of a molding obtained by molding the kneaded material with the gel content 10% or above is alkali-treated, where R<1> in the formula I indicates an aliphatic unsaturated group, R<2> indicates an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group not containing aliphatic unsaturated group, and (a) and (b) indicate numerals satisfying the following conditions: 0<=a<1, 0.5<b<3, 1<a+b<3. A medical polymer material is obtained which has the anti-thrombogenic property, mechanical strength, durability, poisonlessness, sterilizing capability, organism compatibility, and nonstimulating property and is capable of injection molding, inflation molding, extrusion laminate molding, and extrusion tube molding in fabricating various medical articles. |
