PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a picture connecting system by using a picture input means having an input screen smaller than the size of an original picture to input this picture in plural times and connecting these divided pictures into a single picture. CONSTITUTION:An input subject picture (original picture) having a size larger than the input screen of a picture input means of a scanner 3, etc., is inputted in plural times via the picture input means. These inputted pictures (partial pictures) are matched with each other in terms of their positions by means of a graphic identified at a connection reference point like a marked, etc. Then these partial pictures are connected with each other into a single picture in a picture storing means (memory) 11. Thus a wide area is not required for installation of the picture input means and the picture storage. Furthermore the cost of the picture input means is reduced. |
