The shelf according to the invention comprises a central zone (1) which is relatively thin and pierced with small holes (3), this zone being surrounded by a thicker peripheral zone (2) which imparts rigidity to the whole. The perforated sections (3) of the central zone represent between 30 and 60% of the total surface area of the said central zone (1) and are preferably in the shape of hexagonal holes. The shelf consists of one piece and is made as one piece in a plastic material by means of injection moulding. <IMAGE>
