PURPOSE:To exchange a dirty optical element in a short time while a hermetical sealing is maintained by a method wherein a spherical or cylindrical holding part is rotated by a rotating means and after gas in a part mounted with the element is evacuated, the element is exchanged and the holding part is rotated to its former position. CONSTITUTION:In order to exchange a dirty optical element 3 positioned at a transmitting opening 11, which is located on the side of a gas laser, of a spherical holding body 1, the spherical holding part 1 is rotated by a handle 15 for rotation use at 90 degrees and gas in a part mounted with the element 3 is evacuated through a gas exhaust vent 8. After the evacuation of gas, fixing screws 9 are removed, the element 3 is removed along with press members 4 and 5, the element 3 is exchanged for a clean optical element 3 and the members 4 and 5 are fixed on the part 1 by the screws 9. Moreover, the part 1 is rotated by the handle 15 at 90 degrees to its former position. |
