The product for protecting against nitrates in the soil, described previously, consisting of a mixture of natural components, such as the organic components mentioned, in combination with extremely small organisms: streptomycetae and mycorrhizal fungi, has the capacity to reconvert the nitrates, which are formed in cultivated soils as a result of excessively high concentrations of chemical fertilisers or of allowing chemical fertilisers to accumulate, to assimilable nitrogen. The streptomycetae which are found in this mixture decompose the nitrates by reconverting them to assimilable nitric nitrogen and the mycorrhizal fungi make available, to the roots of the plants, the assimilable sugars (glucides) and the essential amino acids (protides) and the aerobic and anaerobic bacteria create a microclimate favourable to protecting plants against diseases and insects.
