The covering of coating is characterised in that it has a void ratio greater than 15 % and in that at least three main elements enter into its composition, namely granulates, a water-soluble resin and an agent for cross-linking the latter, which is also water-soluble, in proportions such that the product of this cross-linking forms a single phase used as a binder between these granulates and for coating the latter when the three elements are combined at ambient temperature. The method for obtaining it consists simply in spreading the granulates on a previously waterproof support, followed by the resin and the cross-linking agent. The invention thus allows saving of thickness, since it dispenses with compacting, and a saving of material for high strengths. <IMAGE>
