The invention relates to suspensions for motor vehicles. It relates to a device for fastening the upper part of a suspension strut formed from a shock absorber, the rod 3 of which is equipped with a spherical head 4 and with a coil spring. This device comprises a block 9 made from an elastomeric material, preferably from polyurethane foam, in which are inserted the rod and its spherical head, a bearing piece 10, the central part of which is hemispherical, and a rigid plate 11 inserted in the block so as to separate the upper part of the bock from the rest of the block. A widened peripheral part of the block acts as a seat for the upper turn of the spring. Use in the motor industry. <IMAGE>
