The invention relates to a device which prevents a piece of glass, which has become detached from its support as a result of failure of the adhesive bonding joint, from falling. The invention proposes a stainless steel part (4) which is firmly attached to the piece of glass (1) and connected to the structure (2) supporting the glass by a flexible cable (6) forming a loop, so that the piece of glass is not subjected to any stresses for as long as the adhesive bonding joint "holds". <IMAGE>
