The frequency synthesizer according to the invention comprises a first phase-lock loop including a first oscillator (1), a divider (2) by N, a first phase comparator (3) receiving a reference frequency P and a loop filter (4), this first loop determining the mean frequency of the said first oscillator (1). It further comprises an additional loop including a second oscillator (7) with high spectral purity, which is variable over a small frequency range, and at least one sampling mixer (5) for freeing the oscillator (1) from noise through a bandpass filter (8). The invention applies to frequency synthesizers with low phase noise. <IMAGE>
