PURPOSE:To save consumption of a heat sensitive transfer film by feeding a recording paper alone to the discharging side when one line in a main scanning direction should be entirely printed white, without winding up the heat sensitive transfer film, so that the heat sensitive transfer film is consumed only when black printing information is present in a line. CONSTITUTION:Information related to printing in black of a printing data 2 which is outputted to a thermal head 1 is counted by a counter 3. If there is no black printing information present in one line, a control signal 4 to stop the operation is outputted to a selector 5. On the other hand, if there is even a single dot to be printed among the printing data 2, a control signal 4 to actuate the printer is outputted to the selector 5. When the actuation control signal is fed, the selector 5 outputs driving pulse data for one line in accordance with the control signal 4 from the counter 3. In the case where the operation is to be stopped, the selector 5 outputs select driving pulse data 10 to a heat sensitive transfer film feeding motor 7 in order not to output the driving pulse data 9. Accordingly, when the recording screen is to be white in the main scanning direction, only the recording paper is sent, and the heat sensitive transfer film is kept stopped. |
