PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction or breakage of a memory element in pulling and inserting a memory card by stopping supply from a power source to the memory card at the time of connecting or disconnecting terminals of a power source line with or from each other and connecting or disconnecting a signal line. CONSTITUTION:The main body of a device 2 is provided with the shortest lead detecting terminals 6, 7 of all the terminals, and a control circuit for controlling inner lines such as a power source system and a signal system based on signals from the detection terminals 6, 7, and a memory card 1 is provided with terminals 51-5n, and terminals 8, 9 to be connected with the detecting terminals 6, 7, as well. In pulling and inserting the memory card, supply of power to the memory card is stopped at the time of connecting or disconnecting the shortest lead detecting terminal on the device main body side with or from the memory card terminal. Thus, as supply of the power to the memory card is stopped at the time of connecting or disconnecting the power source line or the signal line, malfunction of a memory element or breakage of data can be prevented in pulling or inserting the memory card. |
