A first strip (50) is supplied continuously and comprises a card layer (51) and a first layer of adhesive (52). A second strip (54) is also supplied continuously and comprises a transparent sheet (55) and a second layer of adhesive (56) on it. A protective sheet (57) is supplied continuously between the first and second strips (50, 54). The first and second strips are laminated together, with one edge bonded together by the first and second layers of adhesive. The protective sheet is laminated between the remaining, main parts of the layers of adhesive. This composite strip is cut transversely to form individual postcards (100). In use, the protective sheet can be removed, to enable photographs and other articles to be laminated between the card and the transparent sheet.
