PURPOSE: To enable ventilating air or gas to be circulated around fruits stored in a container by a method wherein the container can be stacked up stably on a pallet together with other containers, opposing second side surfaces of the adjoining containers are spaced apart to form a flow passage between the containers each of which has a plurality of vertical first side surfaces at its first portion, a plurality of vertical second side surfaces at its second portion and further one plane of the first side surfaces and the other plane of the second side surfaces having a certain clearance. CONSTITUTION: When a container is practically used, a box 8 is assembled such that its bottom fold-back portions 15, 16 at the side walls of the box are bent inwardly and a bottom fold-back portion 17 of a box end wall is folded and overlapped on the fold-back portions. The bottom fold-back portions 15, 16 and 17 are fixed to each other by staples or adhesive agent to form a second box. The bottom fold-back portions 15, 16 are not contacted to each other at their free ends when they are folded back to generate a clearance between themselves and similarly the free ends of the bottom fold-back portion 17 are not contacted to each other to generate a clearance. With such an arrangement as above, an aeration opening is formed at the central part of the bottom wall of the box 8. |
