The card index box (1) has a projection (10), which extends along the length of each corner. The projection is so shaped that it forms a V-shaped groove (8) along the edge of each side (2, 3) which meet at the corner. The grooves enable two boxes to be attached to each other by an intermediate piece (5). The latter has a forked edge, with one prong fitting in the groove of one box, and the other one fitting in the groove of the adjacent box. ADVANTAGE - Improved card index system with an extending facility.
