<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the iron powder generated by the gear engagement of a reduction gear from mixing with grease and infiltrating into a torque sensor portion and improve the performance and reliability of a torque sensor by separating the reduction gear portion and the torque sensor portion with a partition portion. CONSTITUTION:The torque of a motor 13 is decelerated by a reduction gear 12a constituted of a hypoid pinion 1 and a hypoid gear 12, and the torque is increased and transferred to a lower rotor 14. The torque is transferred to a drive pinion not shown in the figure via a universal joint by the rotation of the lower rotor 14 to steer wheels. The lower rotor 14 is connected to an upper rotor 19 via a torsion bar 16 when the steering action force is inputted, the relative rotation of both of them is detected by a torque sensor 30, and the drive of the motor 13 is controlled. A partition portion 20 is provided on the lower rotor 14, a torque sensor portion 30a and a reduction gear portion 12b are separated by the partition portion 20, and the infiltration of iron powder into the torque sensor portion 30a is prevented.</p> |
