Biochemical samples (44) are injected with metered amts. of additive from a canule (14), with the sample holder positioned relative to the canule tip by an electrically controlledmotorised feeder (10,38). The manipulator (16) for the canule is coupled alternately to a pressure source (26) and vacuum source (22) via a valve system subject to a programmed controller. The samples are held in a grid of holes in a plate formed of thermally sterilisable material and with heavy handles (40) preventing the plate from floating in liq. held in a base dish (36). The samples, esp. early stage ova (oo cyles) first receive the canule in vertical position before axial movement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Suitable for injecting a RNA (messenger ribonucleic acid) without requiring highly skilled operators. |
