The loading measuring device uses a displacement measuring device (5) indicating the spacing (S) of a defined measuring point (6) of the vehicle chassis from a fixed reference level, e.g. the wheel rotation axis to allow level regulation of the suspension. When the measuring point (6) approaches the reference level, an auxiliary signal dependent on the variation in the displacement signal is supplied for measuring the weight of the vehicle.
