PURPOSE: To reduce the vibratory pressure on a pedal by furnishing a throttle on a suction pipe of a pump in a hydraulic brake system with a wheel brake connected with an intermediate reservoir through a return pipe and pumping the brake fluid in the reservoir to a brake pipe. CONSTITUTION: An inlet valve 6 is installed on a brake pipe 4 leading from a master cylinder 1 to a wheel brake 5, and an outlet valve 8 is installed on a return pipe 7 leading from the wheel brake 5 to a pressure accumulating chamber 23 of an intermediate reservoir 9 having a rolling type diaphragm 22. An automatic suction pump 10 is connected to this reservoir through a suction pipe 11, and the discharge side of the pump 10 is connected through a hydraulic pipe 13 to the brake pipe 4 installed between the master cylinder 1 and inlet valve 6. A throttle 27 is installed on the suction pipe 11 located between the pressure accumulating chamber 23 and pump 10, and parallel with the throttle 27, a check valve 29 is installed, which is constituted so as to operate in compliance with the filled level of the chamber 23.
